Manager, Client Experience
Weber Shandwick Detroit is looking for a Manager-level person to work at the center of our production, creative and interagency teams – with an understanding of earned media, social, and a strong background in the production process.
The role requires the ability to drive a large, auto client's storytelling initiatives from a content standpoint including, brand and partnership integrations, tech and innovation, corporate communications and internal communications, CSR and more. This person will be the main point of contact and communication center for clients, internal teams and agency partners for all content/asset needs, starting from the early ideation stages to asset strategy, integration across teams and platforms, asset delivery and more.
This is not a Project Manager role, however those skills are required to effectively manage the team. This Manager will need to effectively drive production and the creative process, review feedback and understand what questions to bring to clients and our internal team to ensure that we do not just deliver on the client request – but deliver content that drives earned media and has a strong reach and/or ROI.
Responsibilities:
• Lead client communications with supervision from manager and reliably represent agency to both internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to generate story ideas and topic angles based on product, audience and timely moments/trends.
• Manage production and shoot logistics and cross functional teams, while managing production recommendations for content supporting earned media
• Support and manage integrated planning across earned media and creative teams, from start (client ideation) through to finish (production execution and activations)
• Track status of account activities and take a lead role in proactively sharing updates with clients
• Assist in account budgeting recommendations and ongoing tracking
Basic Qualifications:
• BA or BS in communications or related field
• 4-6 years of related communications experience
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; applicant must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and interdependently across a diverse organization, but can also take direction
• Current passion and/or interest in growing knowledge and expertise of the Automotive industry, its new challenges and developments and how that resonates with Consumers
• Experience in managing creative production – including video and photo shoots and event execution
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes
• Ability to think critically about account work, ask questions as needed and effectively solve problems
• Exceptional judgment when working with team members, client contacts and partners
• Be a strong hands-on, rubber-meets-road type that can organize projects and operate multi-faceted programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and internal team members across multiple levels
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrates ability to interact with senior level clients
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, online services, and AP style writing is essential
